Walk no.3 Day 1 - East Cliff to Swansea

Our first multi-day walk! Day 1 saw us park up the car at East Cliff (Three Cliffs Bay). It was a bit of a pickle finding somewhere to park up. We needed to park overnight (as we'd be walking for 2 days until we'd be able to get back to the car) and the National Trust car park did not permit overnight parking. We had to find somewhere safe and considerate to local residents to leave the vehicle, which thankfully we managed.
We were so so lucky with the weather; glorious sunshine offered us views for miles. Already at the start point we could see far out to sea.

Honestly, the views were absolutely incredible. If you're at all a fan of seascapes and/or feeling like you're on top of the world, we'd really recommend this walk.
We walked from cliff to bay for a good number of miles, with some steep inclines and shaky downhills, but all utterly worth it for the places we discovered en route.
We'd spotted a building on a far-away headland when we started walking, and decided when we'd reach that building, we'd stop for lunch. Luckily for us, that building happened to be at the glorious Caswell Bay - an utterly beautiful beach, with plenty of space for Luca to run around. We'd packed a good, substantial lunch, but there was also a small cafe at the beach (as well as public toilets).

It's worth noting that this route, which goes directly across the beach - is not accessible at high tide. Wales Coast Path offer an alternative route for high tide.
After lunch the path became much easier to walk, and also much busier. It was a paved path from Caswell Bay onwards, which led us over more headlands and alongside more beaches as we approached The Mumbles.
From Mumbles onwards, we opted to walk on the sand to give Luca's feet a break from the concrete. We could see where we'd finish our walk, but it still took us a good few hours to finally arrive in Swansea, with the sun setting behind us.

We checked into the hotel, and found a dog-friendly bar to have our evening meal - all exhausted but very happy after a glorious day of walking.
